Message to your or DVD Burn's FPC product.

I am only saying that any failure rate at all on the OEM wiring due to dual fuel pumps pulling to much power is not acceptable. If this happens, most guys don't have a fuel pressure gauge / volt gauge/ or the ability to cycle both pumps on / off 1 at a time to check and assist diagnosing what is going on. You don't even carry this monitoring in your Z on a daily basis. I do. I am always aware every mile the subtle changes from the setup.

Using your research numbers ..if only a few cars out of 100 (3%) have electrical issus and if only 1 of those 3 catches on fire due to it .. IMHO ..it's worth it to tell people / recommend a preventable measure / option. It makes no sense to me to take the chance.

Obviously most guys are getting the FPC will have a dual fuel pump setup. Though you and DVD Burn are not responsible for dual fuel pump setup configurations, you and DVD Burn stating that the OEM wiring is fine provides a false sense of security. DVD Burn has stated below that he recommends some inline fuses. Even that isn't necessary if folks just have a seperate power wire for the second pump outside the OEM wiring.

There are so many small things not being shared at the dual fuel pump setups that will help prevent issues.

1) Most guys don't know that at idle the voltage draw on the dual fuel pump Zs creates rough idle issues because the altenator can't keep up. At idle, the ECU needs to read a minimum amount of voltage and with dual fuel pumps / air conditioning / high end stereo - the ecu will not get the minimal voltage it needs to run smoothly at idle. This can be 100% avoided by using the SZ setup where the second pump operates on a Hobbs pressure switch or by turing the idle up.

2) Using the stock fuel line is ok vs. 2 seperate fuel lines but if you use 2 seperate fuel lines you have to Y block the lines back together (like OEM) before the fuel rail or you will have 2 different fuel pressure levels at each rail -- this will make 1/2 of the motor run richer / cooler than the 1/2 - which can create tune issues. I know from watching my EGTs before and after the Y block upgrade on your original setup.

3) Z guys will need to upgrade your fuel rails on large turbo cars (which is most duel fuel pump setups) to avoid fuel supply issues. Otherwise, the injector duty cycle will have to be higher than it normally would be if owners had border rails / 300 degree fuel rails vs. OEM rails. This is only seen on race at high gas boost levels. Pump gas / pump boost levels are fine.
